Learn How This Class Works

Steps to help you complete this Online Class

  1. Download the Flower Recipe and Supplies Lists so you know what to purchase for the class.
  2. Sign up for your time slot to go over your finished design in a Live Online Class Session with Kit & Casey - All Time Slots Completed for 2020 Mother's Day (If you have questions, please enter them into the Comments section on any course page).
  3. Watch the video lessons! This will help you figure out what flowers you might want to look for at the store when you pick up flowers to work with. It also might help you figure out what vase to use. Most likely you have a vase or container at home that will work well for one of the designs we show you how to make.
  4. Shop for Flowers - The next time you are in the grocery store, check out the flower bunches. Choose 2-3 bunches of flowers you like. If you choose mixed bunches, get two of the same type so you have double the amount of flowers. You will need about 20-30 stems total. If you want to make your own "mix" then choose 3 bunches a different type of flower. For example, 12 roses, 8 alstroemeria and 8 spray carnations.
  5. Condition your Flowers - Watch the videos in Design #1 to learn more about conditioning.
  6. Work in an area where you have room to lay out your flowers. Standing at a kitchen island or bar area is nice. Sitting is okay, too! Be comfortable and have lots of room. Creativity can be a little messy!
  7. Choose your vase that will work best with the flowers. Make sure the vase is clean.
  8. Add water to your vase (don't forget the flower food). Fill the vase up about 3/4 full if you are keeping the vase at home. If you need to transport the vase, fill it about 2/3 full and then after you drop the flowers off, remind the recipient to add water daily.
  9. Clean your flowers - and lay them out in piles. Make sure that no leaves or thorns are on the lower part of the stems that will be in water in the vase.
  10. Make your design! Take your time or go as fast at you want! Try to make your design no more than one day before you meet with us online. Try to make most of your design before the online session.
  11. Meet with us online during you time slot you signed up for and ask your questions! Show us your design and we'll help you master the perfect design!
